  • The AEGIS project deals with the interaction of knowledge, innovation, economic growth and social well-being.
  • It focuses on a specific mechanism (entrepreneurship) that translates knowledge into innovation, growth and well-being.
  • This knowledge does not necessarily originate only from ‘knowledge organizations’ (universities, R&D organizations, etc) but also from users and from related joint activities in production and use through different spillovers.
  • The AEGIS project focuses on competences and incentives across sectors and countries that promote the generation of knowledge from suppliers, users as well as from related activities and its transformation through entrepreneurship into innovation, economic value added, and social benefits.
  • The AEGIS project will draw policy conclusions and recommendations for a diverse set of policies addressing supply, demand and system features. Such policies relate to research and development, human resources, innovation, public and private consumption, institutions, and regulation at the national and supra-national levels.
